The Uninvited
Writing the Short
Phrogging has always been my number one fear. The act of living in someone’s home without them knowing is one invasive and two a major breach of sanctity. So naturally, I felt the need to make my first short about it. It was a great learning experience to write my first short. Having learned the classic format and rules just for this. Luckily, I have great friends who were more than willing to help me along this process. Having gone through more than enough rewrites and drafts, I was able to make a short that I was happy with.
Directing the Short
For a first-time director, having a party scene was a bit much. Many moving parts required my attention. However, I got a handle on this very quickly, and it went well. This was also the start of my working relationship with Diego Salas. My go-to actor for any short. Without him, the short would not be what it is. He and I mesh in such a way that I could only dream of. Now I understand that if there is a story I truly want to make, then I should just go do it. There will always be an audience for it, and at least someone will love it.
